Sierra Leone Football Association has on 24th June 2022 climaxed an MA Course for Referees, Instructors, and Assessors at the Football Academy in Kingdom.
The MA Course training is to help empower the Referees, Instructors, and Assessors across the Country.
Ali Mohamed Ahmed the FIFA Technical Instructor from Somalia said it has to be an intensive five days of training which is satisfied that the participants have learned a lot in improving the standards of Refereeing in the Country.
On behalf of the FIFA President, I like to take this opportunity to thank Sierra Leone Football Association for their support throughout the course and thank the participants for their cooperation during the course. He noted that Football Federation should start to work four years course plans for Referees with that there be better Referees in the Country.
“Am highly impressed with the performance of the participants throughout the five days of intensive training course, and If only what is learned is implemented by the Participants there will be headway for standards refereeing in Sierra Leone.”
Alieu Badara Tarawallie the Vice President two of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) expressed appreciation to FIFA for creating the enabling environment for Sierra Leonean Referees to get such knowledge from the two experts from FIFA because the game of football is now developing with modern laws. He noted by sending special thanks to the two experts from FIFA for their time spent training for our Referees, Instructors, and Assessors.
“On behalf of the President of the Football Federation Thomas Daddy Brima, I want to congratulate Ali Mohamed Ahmed from Somalia and his colleague Mohamed Bento for successful training,” and further thank the Referees Department and the participants for a successful job done in the just concluded Sierra Leone Premier League”, Tarawallie said.
“When you have good Assessors good instructors you have good referees,” he concludes.
He affirmed that before the start of the next Premier League there will be training for the Clubs owners, Referees, Instructors, and Assessors on the new amendment to the football across the country and the upcoming female Premier League the Federation want female Referees to handle all matches in the female Premier League.
Harold Nat Johnson the Vice President 1 of the Sierra Leone Football Association said as the Federation they are ready to work with its mandate to ensure that the Referees get the best in improving the standard of the game in the Country. There is also going to be another try for local active referees in the country before the start of the Premier League.
