SLFA Appoints National Senior Female Team Coaches Ahead Of Wafu Zone A

The Sierra Leone Football Association has on 12th January 2023 announced the appointment of Technical Staff to take charge of the Sierra Leone National Female Senior Team.

Their Appointment came following the Country’s preparation to participate in the WAFU Zone A Women’s Tournament in Cape Verde from the 20th to the 30th of January 2023.

The lists of the appointees are

1. Ernest Hallowell – He is the Head Coach for the Senior Female National Team and he is disciplined and committed to his Job, the appointment does not come as a surprise to many Football Fans.

2. Martha Conteh is appointed as Assistant to Coach to Ernest Halloween; she is the head coach of the FC Kallon Junior team and has been exceptional with the youth team, a one-time player for the senior female national team.

3. Musu Pele Bangura is appointed as Team Coordinator; she is one time Captain of the Senior National team and a good house name when it comes to Female Football in the Country.

4. Mamie Sheriff is appointed as the team’s medical officer.

5. Milton Koroma Team Admin

6. Esther Marie Samura is appointed as the Media Officer of the female Senior National Team.

The release from the Media Department state that Hallowell and his technical are expected to resume work effective immediately to prepare the team ahead of the tournament in Cape Verde.

The CAF Women’s WAFU Zone A set to kick off on January 20th to the 30, and eight Countries plus the host set to battle for the Trophy and medals.

Here are the Countries that are going to participate in the Tournament:

1. Cape Verde

2. The Gambia

3. Guinea

4. Guinea Bissau

5. Liberia

6. Mail

7. Mauritania

8. Senegal

9. Sierra Leone.

The Technical team has less than ten days to put the squads together and departs for the tournament, the last time the Sierra Leone Senior National team participated in the WAFU tournament was in 2019 and they came third in the group stages and it was held in Sierra Leone under the then leadership of Isha Johannsen.
