Six Men Remanded Over Burglary, Larceny and Receiving Stolen Property

Six men, Gbessay Swaray, Foday Sallu, Martin Sallu, Joseph Gekamjie Kamara (alias Shine), John Bangalie (alias Boika), and Foday Hassan made their first appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1, facing four-count charges of conspiracy, burglary, larceny, and receiving stolen good.

According to court records, on Thursday, 28th August 2025, the first five accused allegedly conspired with others to commit burglary and larceny. They are accused of breaking into the dwelling of Kaiker Koker and stealing a 65” LG Smart Plasma TV (Le 24,000), a 55” LG Smart Plasma TV (Le 12,000), a projector ($800 / Le 19,200), two solar LED lights ($140 / Le 3,600), and a Lenovo laptop ($500 / Le 12,000), totaling Le 70,800.

It is further alleged that the same accused broke into the home of Lucy Koker, stealing a black Lenovo laptop ($300 / Le 2,450), a sealed carton blender (Le 18,000), a six-set carton of dishes (Le 7,000), three cartons of assorted dishes (Le 15,000), an extension cable (Le 500), a black Bluetooth speaker ($100 / Le 2,450), and a white iPad ($100 / Le 2,450), totaling Le 63,150.

On Saturday, 6th September 2025, the sixth accused, Foday Hassan, allegedly received one solar LED light ($400 / Le 3,600) and one Lenovo laptop ($500 / Le 12,000) from Martin Sallu, knowing them to be stolen, totaling Le 15,600.

When the charges were read, no plea was taken. Prosecutor C.S.P Ziza served the case docket, while counsels P.S. Vandy and A.B. Bangura represented the accused.

Magistrate Jah remanded all six men to the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown and adjourned the matter to 1st December 2025 for hearing.
