Six Accused Committed to High Court for Alleged Robbery and Assault in Bo

Six accused persons Foday Sallu, Martin Sallu, Joseph Gekamjie Kamara alias Shine, John Bangalie alias Boika, Gbessay Swaray alias Success, and Alhassan Sesay appeared before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 on a six-count indictment. The charges include conspiracy to commit robbery with aggravation, robbery with aggravation, wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and receiving stolen property.

According to the particulars of the offence, on Thursday, 28th August 2025, at NASSIT Quarters, Hancil Road, Bo Town, Southern Province, the first to fifth accused allegedly conspired with unknown individuals to commit robbery with aggravation. On the same date and location, the defendants, armed with guns and machetes, reportedly robbed John Malacheous Baimaigay Lamina of an iPhone 13 Pro Max, a Samsung A23, a Samsung Fold, a silver Apple wristwatch, and three additional wristwatches, all valued at Le 135,790.

During or immediately after the robbery, the accused allegedly used personal violence against the victim. It is further alleged that they maliciously wounded the victim with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assaulted him, resulting in actual bodily harm.

Additionally, on Friday, 29th August 2025, at Banga Farm, Waterloo, the sixth defendant, Alhassan Sesay, allegedly received a ThinkPad Lenovo laptop and an iPhone 13 Pro Max belonging to the complainant, knowing them to be stolen property.

Magistrate Jah ruled that the prosecution had adduced sufficient evidence to warrant committal to the High Court. Consequently, the matter was committed for trial.
