Morocco U-17 beat Sierra Leone Men’s Under 17 team 1-0 in an International friendly at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia, Liberia on the 5th June 2022.
Rayan Bayad scored the only goal of the match in the 68th minute to give the Atlas Lions a narrow win against the Sierra Stars.

Coach Mohamed Lamin named Alpha Fornah second captain who lived up to the billing with an awe-inspiring performance in the midfield. Abdul T. Gbendeva led the lines for the Sierra Stars and Francis I. Kalokoh and Kellyella Massaquoi played through the lines – as Alpha Fornah and Mohamed Lamin Sumah operated in the defensive midfield position.
Chernor Kamara showed class at the back with an absolute brilliance in both halves.
Chances were far and few in the first half – as both teams headed into the locker room without a goal.
Back from the recess Francis I. Kalokoh made way for Mohamed Lamin Sumah, Kellyella for Chernor Barrie, Abdulai T. Gbendeva for Hungbate, Alie Koroma for Kabbah Conteh, and Bangay for Abu Koroma whilst Morocco brought in few fresh legs in the remaining minutes.
Umar Kalloch had a possible chance that could have restored parity in the 75th minute but his pass went wide above the post after picking a pass from Idrissa.
The substitute introduced brought a bite into the game but that didn’t change the score line as the referee blew his whistle to end the game.
Sierra Stars enjoyed possession in both halves much to the amusement of fans.
The Sierra Stars will play the return leg on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the same venue.
