The cool looking and eye catching Abubakarr Tarawallie who is commonly called ENZY B was born on July 11 1993 in Freetown, Sierra Leone`s capital city.
His parents emanate from Bombali district, Makalibanti chiefdom, Sawuya village in the northern part of the country.
Mr Tarawallie did his primary education at the United Methodist Church Baughman primary school in Brookfields.
He enrolled at the St Anthony Junior Secondary School and later attained his West African Senior Secondary Certificate at the WAM Collegiate Secondary School.
He is deeply passionate about music but Enzy B further seeks comfort in other hobbies such as reading, fashion and dancing.
Enzy B is purely gifted in music which he sees as a calling from God and he has resolved to showcase his talent to the rest of the world.
He perfectly plays the traditional “Bata” instrument, and he is a die-hard fan of Grammy award winning artist Burna boy and local new school star Drizillick.
Enzy B expresses his desire to feature his idols Burna Boy and Drizillick in a musical collaboration.
Mr Tarawallie is not a “one way” singer like many artists in Sierra Leone; he adopts different styles in his songs as evidenced on his stage performance during the NVE summer festival second edition.
He admitted the fact that Sierra Leone music is on the slump, but went on to express optimism in reviving it, akin to the momentum it was generating in its glory days.
Enzy B called on the DJ`s to play more of Sierra Leonean music than any other, and at the same time urged the fans to develop a listening and dancing appetite for local content music.
He recognizes the talent inherent in the new school artists but, he did not shy away from appealing to the broadcast media to be playing at least 80% Sierra Leonean music and 20% others.
The Afro dancehall singer recorded his first single with the forensic records but he confessed of a career changing moment when he was admitted into the New Vibration Empire (NVE).
“There is a big difference between an artist with a management and one without,” that is how Enzy B describes his experience with the NVE.
“Before now, I would have to incur a lot of resources to release a single song, but with the NVE everything is done for free, even for shooting a video,” he disclosed.
Mr Tarawallie expresses joy over the fact that he would not be saddened by a recording studio because he has faced disappointment from a studio for not recording a song he had wanted to perform on stage.
Enzy B was over the moon when his mother accepted music as his career and went on to bless him by way of seeking divine intervention for success and perpetual bliss in his musical journey.
It should be noted that Enzy B`s mother had wanted him to become an intellectually minded person but divine manifestation had predestined him for music.
Enzy B called on the Chief Executive Officer of the NVE Dr Jackson Blamo not to relent in supporting the crew, as according to him, they would make him proud one day for the trust he reposed on them and at the same time elevate Sierra Leone music to the zenith.
According to Enzy B, whenever he is successful in music, he wants to realize his dream by establishing an entertainment complex to support and teach up and coming artist for them to circumvent some of the hurdles he went through as an artist.
