Sierra Leone international Moses Turay who is playing in an Egyptian Premier League outfit Pharco FC is looking forward to Leone Stars second call up as he wants to contribute to the National team by Sierra Leone qualifying for the World Cup in 2026.
The first international call up for Moses Turay was in September 2022 when he made his debut in a 3-0 friendly loss to DR Congo.
The 19-year-old signed a three-year deal with Pharco that will keep him in Alexandria until the summer of 2026.
Turay joins on a free transfer from the youth ranks of French club ESTAC Troyes, who ply their trade at Ligue 2.
Having started his career at French minnows FC Montfermeil, Turay made a move to the U19 team of Troyes in the summer of 2022, before leaving a year later to join Pharco.
Turay now becomes Pharco’s first summer signing as they hope to build on last season, which saw them finish ninth in the Egyptian Premier League table.
According to information Turay have attracted many clubs and a report from the French media, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Eintracht Frankfurt, SC Freiburg, Hamburger SV, OGC Nice, Lille OSC, and S.S. Lazio are all interested.
Coach Galal told KINGFUT said Turay is a promising player and that he is destined for greatness, adding that with his current form which make him first-choice player at the club level will see him seal a spot in his country’s national team and attract top European clubs.
“I saw Turay playing for ESTAC Troyes B in France, he is fantastic players that attracted top European clubs and now he is developing here. It’s a gradual process that will put him in another level for both club and national team and also he will be approached by top European clubs. He is only 19 years old and I believe before he is 22, we shall see the best of him if possible, in the European elite leagues,” he stated.
