of Sierra Leone (NOC/CGA-SLE) recently held a meeting at their Walpole Street office with Sierra Leone International Athlete, Hafsatu Kamara, and Foday Dumbuya, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Labrum Clothing company. Notable figures present at the meeting included NOC/CGA-SLE’s President Prince Sualley, Treasurer Unisa Deen Kargbo, Chief De Mission Yayah Koroma, Madam Pamella Williams (Commissioner of Women and Sports), and members of Labrum Sierra Leone. The meeting, chaired by Joseph Nyande from NOC/CGA-SLE, focused on discussing the collaboration between the National Olympic Committee and Labrum Clothing in rebranding Sierra Leonean athletes.
Prince Sualley, the President of the National Olympic Committee, commended Foday Dumbuya for his significant contributions in transforming athletes for competitions, both locally and internationally. He emphasized the positive impact of Labrum Clothing’s artistic designs on athletes and expressed optimism about the rebranding efforts. Sualley highlighted the potential for revenue generation through the use of Labrum Clothing products by athletes and the public.
In his remarks, Foday Dumbuya, the CEO of Labrum Clothing, shared that the collaboration began when Unisa Deen Kargbo, the Treasurer of the National Olympic Committee, approached him in London for assistance in rebranding Sierra Leonean athletes. Dumbuya noted that Labrum Clothing had already played a role in the last Olympic Games in Japan and Commonwealth Games, expressing readiness to continue supporting athletes across various sporting disciplines in Sierra Leone. He emphasized that a formal partnership with the Sierra Leone Olympic Committee would enhance the country’s image on the international stage.
Olympian Hafsatu Kamara expressed gratitude to the National Olympic Committee and the people of Sierra Leone for their support during international competitions. She emphasized the importance of representing the country effectively and expressed her desire for the best possible representation for Sierra Leonean athletes.
The National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone and Labrum Clothing are actively working towards securing a contract in preparation for upcoming events such as the Africa Games and the Olympic Games. The collaboration aims to further elevate the image of Sierra Leonean athletes on the global stage.
