Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, was honored as a special guest at the inaugural State of the Nation Address delivered by Liberian President Joseph Boakai. The significant event took place before the Joint Session of the 55th Legislature in Monrovia, highlighting the deep-rooted historical connection between the two sister countries and their shared dedication to fortifying bilateral relations.

During his address, President Boakai acknowledged the historical ties between Sierra Leone and Liberia, expressing his firm commitment to fostering closer cooperation and collaboration. Vice President Jalloh, in response, conveyed his satisfaction with President Boakai’s recognition of the intertwined history and pledged Sierra Leone’s unwavering support to Liberia.

Vice President Jalloh outlined key areas of focus for bilateral cooperation, stressing the importance of revitalizing the Mano River Union. This regional organization aims to promote economic integration and cooperation among Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, and Côte d’Ivoire. Additionally, he underscored the need to reinforce and protect the border communities between the two nations and expand trade corridors to stimulate economic growth.

The visit of Vice President Jalloh to Liberia not only underscores the importance Sierra Leone places on its relationship with Liberia but also sets the stage for increased collaboration across various sectors. Both nations are positioned to work together on issues related to regional stability, economic development, and the well-being of their citizens.

Vice President Jalloh expressed solidarity with the government and people of Liberia, extending gratitude to President Boakai for the warm reception and conveying his best wishes for the president and his new team.

In an addendum, President Boakai emphasized that as both nations look to the future, this visit serves as a powerful symbol of the strong bond between Sierra Leone and Liberia, showcasing their shared commitment to advancing mutual interests and regional integration.
