The Action for Differently Abled Children Network Sierra Leone (ADACNet-SL) has announced that the 2nd Edition of the Sierra Leone Persons with Disabilities & Inclusion Summit will be held in Kenema City on December 4–5, 2025.
The two-day national event is expected to bring together 200 participants from all 16 districts, including young people with disabilities, rural youth, policymakers, civil society leaders, private sector representatives, development partners, and the media.
Under the theme “Inclusive Futures, Resilient Communities: Empowering Young People with Disabilities as Active Contributors to Communal Development,” the summit will provide a platform for dialogue, showcase innovations, and amplify the voices of persons with disabilities (PWDs).
Key activities will include roundtable discussions, panel dialogues, a youth mentorship seminar, community campaigns, media programs, and a disability-friendly football match aimed at raising awareness. A special pitching competition will also allow young innovators to present disability-inclusive solutions, while awards will recognize outstanding champions of disability inclusion.
According to ADACNet-SL, the expected outcomes include stronger national partnerships, increased public awareness of disability rights, and practical innovations in education, employment, and accessibility.
“Through this summit, we aim to ensure that young people with disabilities are not only seen but are actively involved as leaders, innovators, and contributors to national development,” said the organizers in a statement.
The Persons with Disabilities & Inclusion Summit was first held in 2023 and is part of ADACNet-SL’s broader mission to advance empowerment and sustainable development for differently-abled individuals across Sierra Leone.
