SIERRA LEONE TAEKWONDO ASSOCIATION TAKES SPORT TO  PORT LOKO DISTRICT

Sierra Leone Taekwondo Association has taken the sport to St Augustine Secondary School in Lungi Kafu Bullom Chiefdom in Port Loko District as part of the bid to spread the discipline across the Country.

The event took place at the St. Augustine Secondary School compound; the demonstration brought together a lot of important personalities and stakeholders within the Port Loko District.

According to Oness Abayomi Johnson, the President of the Sierra Leone Taekwondo Association the rationale is part of the school Project of taking the Sports to the Schools in other to catch them when they are young.

He affirmed that as part of the transformations process whose objectives are to get the game of Taekwondo and  Martial Art Sports across the four corners of the Country, the latest area to benefit is the northwest Region and there are huge plans of taking the Sport in all the corners of the Country.

Gerald L.A Davies, a sports organizer in Portloko District said as schools they are happy to receive such a discipline in their School Curriculum and they are going to do the need full to see that Taekwondo reach the four corners in the North West as it would now be part of his devoted responsibility to ensure that the sport reaches every school in the northwest part of St Augustine Sec Sch, Sierra Leone.

After their approval, St. Augustine secondary school started practiced Sports with immediate effect.

The school is privilege to be part of the four Schools that are currently having Taekwondo as part of their Sports events; in the Western Area three Schools are currently practicing the Sport.

Sierra Leone Taekwondo mid-November wrap-up a three weeks training course for level two coaches in the Country to empower and to empower them to administer the Sports in the Country.
