Sierra Leone Swimming Diving and Water Polo Association have on Wednesday 24th November 2021 unveiled swimming Equipment received from FINA the International body for Swimming in the world.
According to the Vice President Sierra Leone Swimming Diving and Water Polo Association, Philip Bangura said they received swimming equipment’s from their international partner (FINA) that has to do with medicine kits for the athletes. He added that this is not the first time they receiving such kits from their International partner if there is a project at hand they will inform them and in return, they will receive what they requested.
He further that the Equipment came at the right time because they are currently preparing four athletes to take part in the Abu Dabi World Championship and they will be used for the intended purpose ahead of the Championship next in December. Four Swimmers will have to depart Sierra Leone on the second week of December for the event, three of them are undergoing intensive training two times a day to get they selves well prepared, three of the athletes that are in Freetown are Joshua Wyse, Titi Dumbuya, and Isha Kamara the one is presently in Senegal going through an international training there.
According to Sheku Conteh, the head coach of the Sierra Leone Swimming Diving and Water Polo Association they have been in intensive training since their last International tournament the Olympics Games and he has been working on the Swimmers to correct their mistakes, improve their timing, give the required knowledge for International Championship because the events we are preparing to it.
The Equipment received are, track suits, Yoga Balls, swimming belts, Flippers, Goggles, Strech Cords, Swimming Caps, Snorkols, Skin Tight, Argena Kit bags, Yoga Stroch Cord, Essgntial Drugs for medication during training.
The Association is calling on Government, Cooperate bodies to come and help them with funding because they working for the people of Sierra Leone.
