Sierra Leone Swimmers Joshua Wyse and Titi Dumbuya has joined Sprinter Maggie Barrie as all of them has been at the Tokyo Olympics games after they failed to go beyond the preliminary rounds of the 50 meters in the men’s and Women’s categories respectively.
Titi Dumbuya finished third in her Swimming time of 31: 56 sec which is a national Olympics record but her personal best wasn’t enough to see her among the 16 from 11 different heats throughout the semis, while Joshua Wyse finished 8th position out of the eight Swimmers.
The duo male Swimmers alongside Maggie Barrie are now out of the competition games and the disqualification of Judo athlete Fredrick Harris few days ago means Sierra Leone`s participation has come to an end.
Government of Sierra Leone supported the Sierra Leone delegation with huge funding for the team to participate in the games, a total of (3) billon Leones was given to the team.
There are a lot of challenges that are affecting sporting disciples in the Country, good number of the sporting disciples lack training facilities, training equipment, and finance to take care of their athletes, with this there will always be poor results in terms of international representation.
