The Chairman of Sierra Leone Premier League Board Magistrate Mark Ngegba has confirmed in a Press Conference that 2024/2025 Premier League will kick-off on 20th December 2024 at the North-West Region in Port Loko Mini Stadium.
He said as Board they have put everything in place to ensure that the League Kick-off with one Hundred Million Leones given to clubs as seed money for a start for now.
He further that they have passed on directives to all the (18) Premier League clubs to ensure that the said money given to clubs being use for the intended purpose more especially the players, noting that one of the new things they are having work is all the 18 clubs will receive 104 bundles of Grafton water per month as support for this year League.
He affirmed that one of the things they are going to introduce is that all the participating clubs are going to receive packages at the end of the Sierra Leone Premier League. Noting that the fixtures have been prepared electronically to ensure that clubs are able to know their strength as they brace up Preparations for the League.
Mohamed Benson Bawoh Acting Scribe of the Sierra Leone Football Association said they have done everything humanly possible for the 2024/2025 Premier League to kick-off across the Country and that they have ensure all clubs where able to meet the FIFA Connect system that will help the saga around players is handle properly.
He furthered that for the first the Sierra Leone Premier League is going to start without support from the Sierra Leone Football Association adding that the Football Association will come in late with their own support to the Sierra Leone Premier League Board.
The acting scribe said as part of their support to help Government in creating jobs the years is going to create 1040 jobs to players who are going to part this years League.
The winner of this year Premier League is set to receive five Hundred Million Leones old noted while the runners up is going to bag home 250 million Leones old noted.
