The Sierra Leone Premier League Board has in a press release dated 6 January 2022 announced the postponement of the Sierra Leone Premier League which was expected to begin today: 7th January 2022.
This stated was done in consultation with premier league clubs as 21st January is the new date set for the commencement of the second round of the Sierra Leone Premier League. The board said they are sorry for any inconvenience this met have caused to the Football family Countrywide.
Meanwhile, the transfer and registration of players have been extended to January 21.
According to clubs owners, they don’t even know what they are playing with the Sierra Leone Premier League approaching the second round of the League; seed money is not even available for the league to continue the second half of the season.
Host other clubs in the seconds faced with challenges of paying their players and running their clubs as some find it difficult to attract sponsors and that has been a serious challenge.
