The Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA) presented major investment opportunities at the Sierra Leone Trade & Cultural Forum 2025, held in Dongguan City under the theme “Bridging Countries & Building Future – Sierra Leone Investment Opportunities.” The event was organized by the Embassy of Sierra Leone in the People’s Republic of China.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Dr. Abu Bakarr Karim reaffirmed Sierra Leone’s strong interest in attracting Chinese investment. He encouraged Chinese businesses to expand their operations into Sierra Leone, emphasizing that such collaboration would further solidify the already robust bilateral relationship between the two nations.

Representing SLPHA, Deputy Director General Madam Judith B. Kosseh expressed the Authority’s appreciation for the forum, describing it as a platform offering numerous “bankable investment opportunities” ideal for Chinese investors. She also conveyed the greetings of Director General Mr. Yankuba Askia Bio, who was unable to attend due to official commitments but reiterated his administration’s commitment to partnering with Chinese stakeholders to transform Sierra Leone into a competitive maritime hub in West Africa.

The forum marked a major milestone in strengthening economic cooperation between Sierra Leone and China, with SLPHA positioning itself as a pivotal facilitator of trade, investment, and sustainable maritime development.
