In a proactive move aimed at curbing the proliferation of the potent drug known as Kush, the Sierra Leone Police in Bo, located in the Southern Region, have initiated a pioneering campaign.

Spearheaded by Regional Commander AIG Brima Kanneh, the force unveiled a conspicuous signpost prominently featuring the image of Inspector General of Police, Mr. William Fayia Sellu, underlining the message “Reject Kush.”

This groundbreaking initiative seeks to deter the consumption and distribution of Kush, a potent strain of marijuana that has gained unwarranted popularity despite its illegality in numerous countries.

Commander Kanneh highlighted the symbolic importance of the signpost, explaining that it stands as a powerful symbol of the Police’s unwavering opposition to Kush. The deliberate placement of the IGP’s visage aims to send a clear message against the use of this illegal substance.

The ceremonial unveiling of the signpost serves a dual purpose: to dissuade potential individuals involved in Kush-related activities and to reiterate the Police force’s commitment to combating drug-related crimes. AIG Kanneh emphasized the force’s dedication to shielding the community from the adverse effects of drug abuse.

This proactive initiative underscores the Police’s commitment to public awareness and their steadfastness in enforcing the law to ensure the region’s safety. The unveiling of this signpost signifies the Police force’s resolute determination in the ongoing battle against Kush, striving to create a safer and drug-free environment for all citizens.
