The Sierra Leone Police (SLP), in collaboration with the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF), has launched a joint security patrol across Bo City in response to the recent surge in armed robbery incidents. The wave of crimes has caused widespread fear among residents, leaving several victims injured, including John Lamina, the Southern Regional Manager of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), who remains hospitalized in critical condition.

According to the Southern Regional Police Commander, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Brimba Kanneh, the joint security operation aims to restore public confidence, dismantle criminal networks, and ensure the safety and security of Bo’s residents and businesses. “This operation will focus on crime-prone areas within the city, with a particular emphasis on night-time patrols to prevent further criminal activities that have been terrorizing the community,” AIG Kanneh stated.

He further assured the public that the SLP and RSLAF are fully committed to maintaining law and order in the city. AIG Kanneh called on the residents and business owners of Bo to cooperate with security personnel during the patrols, stressing that community involvement is essential for the success of the operation.
