The Chief Executive officer for Sierra Leone mission in development, Osman Kamara CEO has donated dental chairs and other equipment’s to Moyamba government hospital. The program took place at the hospital conference hall. The district medical superintendent for Moyamba government hospital, Dr. Gagorie Foray when explaining the back ground of the items disclosed that the said organization sometimes in 2019 conducted free operations for 800 people with health problems as oral health was also part of it. He added that the organization thought it fits that they district was in need and that was the reason the organization donated the said items to the hospital.
Dr. Foray applauded Osman Kamara for his goodwill gesture towards the district, and assured them that the items will be used for the right purpose. He called on others to avoid blind treatment when they have oral health problems as that will worsen the problem; he advised them to visit the hospital because there are people that are professionals in various field. Haja Mamie Vanja, a community stakeholder also appeal to Moyamba government hospital to also train nurses as that will help the district to have more dental workers. On his part the CEO for Sierra Leone mission and development Osman Kamara in his statement revealed that their organization is targeting health, agriculture, educational and leadership he also disclosed that he is supporting orphan in the district.
Osman Kamara also said that the dental chairs and equipment where given to him by a retired dental friend of his in America; adding that he contacted his sister in Sierra Leone and ask her about district that is in need, he further said his sister recommend the principal dental officer who is Dr. David Idris Kamara adding that after contacting the doctor he told him that they have trained someone in the district but they don’t have oral equipment, so he was advised by Dr. Kamara to donate the items to Moyamba.
The key note speaker for the program was Dr. David Idris Kamara principal dental officer. He assured everyone that the Ministry of Health will give all necessary support to the district oral health center and express appreciation to Osman Kamara for his support. He said that many people are dying in the district because of oral health problems adding that this is an opportunity for the district and says he expects them to make good use of it. Certificate of completion was handed over to Mohamed Jalloh district dental officer and the said oral health center was officially open.
