Sierra Leone Honorary Consul in Tanzania Hussein T. Hamadi has organized dinner for the Under-19 Men’s Cricket Team after securing silver trophy at the just concluded ICC Men’s U-19 World Cup Africa Division 2 Qualifier in Dar es Salaam.
Held at Levant Restaurant in the East African city, the dinner brought together the Under-19 players and their officials including staff from the Consul’s office.
Speaking, Consul Hamadi congratulated the Junior Men’s Patriots for putting up a manly fight that won Sierra Leone a slot to the 2025 ICC Men’s U-19 World Cup Africa Division 1 Tournament. “The young talents did well. I want to also thank the officials for making this possible,” he said.
During the competition, Sierra Leonean Pastor Morie Saffa, based in Dar es Salaam, served the team with familiar dishes throughout to help them feel at home and compete for glory.
Meanwhile, the cricket delegation left Tanzania on Tuesday to head home as grand welcome awaits them.
The Junior Men’s Patriots took on five nations at the tournament, winning four to only lose one to host Tanzania in the finals.
