Former U-20 coach, Alimany K-Foot Turay has on the 30th August 2021 called on the Ministry of Sports, the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Thomas Daddy Brima to appeal for Justice over his match-Fixing allegations that has taken over seven (7) years with no Justice.
He said “I personally feel dissatisfied with the situation that is going on with the allegations of the match-Fixing scandal against me; he added that the outgone regime of Madam Isha Johansen levied match-Fixing allegation towards me and 11 Officials with no evidence for the past seven years.”
He added that the former Minister of Sports, Paul Kamara said there was no match-Fixing evidence against him and the other eleven Officials and everybody should go about our normal business. On the contrary, the out gone led Isha Johansen executive levied such allegation on him and 11 other Officials without any evidence till date. Seven years ago now the matter has not been look into and this has necessitated him to call on the Ministry of Sports, SLFA and other Authorities concerns.
Mr. Turay said if any action is not taken to grant him Justice in this issue; he will be left with no option then to look somewhere else for Justice.
An excerpt of his letter written on the 30th August reads
“I write to appeal for Justice to be done on my side after years of false allegations regarding match-Fixing which has contributed immensely in tarnishing my good image and reputation. I was unfairly treated; marginalization because of this baseless accusation that has no tangible proof to know if guilty or not”.
The Letter continues “Football is part of my life and I have dictated bulk portion of my life to maintain and propagate the beauty of the game in my Country. Throughout my playing and coaching career match-Fixing has never and will never be part of my life”.
He affirmed that “I have diligently and faithfully served my beloved nation as football model, this in fact catapulted me to be appointed as the head coach of the Sierra Leone U-20 national in 2010”.
Mr. Turay said he was shocked in 2014 when news alerted him that he had been involved in match-Fixing after leading the under 20 National team to Ghana upon arrival to Sierra Leone.
Alimany K-Foot Turay said that his Lawyers are waiting on the response of the Sierra Leone Football Association President, Thomas Daddy Brima because a court action is going to be taken for legal redressed soon.
