The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, has extended warm congratulations to Umu Hassan-King, a Board Member of the Sierra Leone Female Premier League Board, on her successful acceptance into the CAF Football Executive Management Programme 2025.
Speaking on behalf of the SLFA Executive Committee and the wider football fraternity, President Kamara praised Hassan-King’s achievement and described it as a proud moment for Sierra Leone football.
“This is a proud moment not only for Ms. Hassan-King but for the entire Sierra Leonean football family. Her acceptance into such a prestigious programme reflects the growing recognition of Sierra Leone’s contribution to African football development. On behalf of the SLFA Executive and football stakeholders, I congratulate her and wish her every success,” President Kamara said.
The CAF Football Executive Management Programme, which will run from September 2025 to January 2026, is scheduled to take place in leading football development hubs across the continent, including Cairo (Egypt), Rabat (Morocco), and Cape Town (South Africa).
Organized by the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF), the programme is designed to enhance the leadership, strategic, and operational capacity of football executives. Its modules include Governance and Compliance in Football, Strategic Planning and Leadership, Financial Management in Sport Organizations, Commercialization and Sponsorship in African Football, Football Operations and Event Management, Digital Innovation and Communication and Integrity and Ethics.
Hassan-King’s selection not only represents a personal milestone but also underscores her role in advancing women’s football in Sierra Leone through her work with the Female Premier League Board. The SLFA President further noted that her achievement will serve as inspiration for women and young people seeking leadership roles in sports management and development.
