SIERRA LEONE ATHLETICS DELEGATION DEPARTS FOR NIGERIA

The Sierra Leone National Athletics Senior & Junior Team delegation has on the 29th May,2021  departed for Kaduna, Nigeria at the Lungi International Airport, ahead of 2021 ECOWAS Regional 2 Championship scheduled to commence on the 29-30 May 2021.

The delegation led by Aiah Bockarie (Treasurer SLAA) as Head of Delegation.

The 35-man delegation is expected to touch down in Abuja in the early hours of the above date.

The Government of Sierra Leone gave financial assistant through the Ministry of Sports in collaboration with the National Sports Authority to help the Sierra Leone Athletics Association to represent the Country.

However, the Athletes expressed appreciation to the Government for coming to their aid; in zest to represent the country in an international Championship. They further assured the people of Sierra Leone of winning medals, and vouched to make good use of the intensive training they had over three months and are confidence of bring laurels.  In their last outing in Ghana Regional Championship they brought home 7 medals.
