Sierra Leone’s Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Nabeela Farida Tunis, on Friday, 30 January 2026, held a high-level engagement with Jamaica’s Minister of Culture, Entertainment and Sport, Hon. Olivia “Babsy” Grange, reaffirming the strong historical and cultural bonds between the two nations.

Discussions focused on strengthening cultural cooperation, deepening people-to-people connections, and exploring opportunities for sustained collaboration.
Minister Tunis briefed her Jamaican counterpart on Sierra Leone’s Year of Culture and Creativity, highlighting flagship initiatives designed to promote cultural exchange and strengthen diaspora engagement. Both ministers emphasized the importance of culture as a bridge between nations and a catalyst for inclusive development.
The two sides expressed a mutual commitment to building long-term partnerships and agreed on the need to establish a clear framework to guide future cooperation in the cultural and creative sectors.
