In the plush arena of Radisson Blu the National Social Security and Insurance Trust, NASSIT provided a classic treat to the media as an end of the year good public relations effort. The bar and kitchen were superb in the flow of goodies and the serenade of drumbeat and acoustics created the fine blend to stand up and share the fine moment.
Eating and drinking was not all to it. There was a moment of profound conservation which is in fact my idea of the meat of cocktail besides those spice balls of grilled stake of meat that we pick-up from trays of the waiters that were professionally moving around and helping us put assortment of the cusines in saucers to send down our throats over the drinks.
So NASSIT PR experts, Bangalie, Benya and Prince were at hand to create the condition and time for serious business. We had an interlude of the remarks churning out the core messages of the social security is all about based on legal binding law for all workers to subscribe to the scheme. This comment was further amplified by a senior official of NASSIT, impressing on us all that NASSIT value the relationship with media to have mutually beneficial effect that can cascade to the wider society and citizenry.
Minister of Informationa and Commincations was in attendance and he especially used the occasion to challenge journalists to show exemplary action in joining the scheme, throwing is personal experience working in Liberia to share the good news of his support for social security bearing fruits.
Chairman of IMC George Khoriyama added his voice from a regulator point of view saying it is provided in the IMC Act to be NASSIT compliant as legal requirement to operate a media.
And the President of SLAJ Ahmed Nasralla threw in a nuanced chunk of the meat of the cocktail. He appealed for stronger tie where NASSIT can find a pathway to invest in media. This point sounded very much appealing to the journalist community; and you can be rest assured that it would be the food for thought for NASSIT going forward.
So when NASSIT and media reconvene next time around, we will hear speeches and statements indicative of how the relation has been elevated to doing business with media in more tangible forms beyond advertorials and pressers. I have trust in NASSIT!
