The investigator on the September 11th riots, Detective Sergeant  Tamba Marrah attached to Criminal Investigation Department, Ross Road police station has explained steps he took to investigate Ibrahim Deen Kargbo, Mohamed Lamin and Kalilu Santigie.

The accused persons on the above matter are charged to court after police investigation on two count charges of conspiracy to commit a crime  and incitement contrary to law.

It was alleged on the charge sheet that on the 11th of September this year, the accused persons conspired together with other persons unknown to commit crime.

Prosecuted by Assistant Superintendent of police Fatmata Kuyateh prosecution witness number two, Detective Sergeant  Tamba Marrah after taking the oath with the holy Quran recognized the accused persons in the dock.

He said on the 21st September 2023, a case an enquire file of an alledged incitement was transferred to their unit for further investigation.

He said during the process the file was allocated to him and the cautioned statement of the accused persons are taken at Waterloo police station.

The witness said as the NCO crime he read all the statements of the accused person. He produced those statements before the court, and they are perused by defense counsel AK Kamara after which are tendered as exhibits A one to nine for the first accused, B one to four for the second accused and C one to four for the third accused.

Explaining further, the police witness on the 24th of September 2023, with Decetive police countable 13914 Bangura A A charged all three accused person with the offenses of conspiracy to commit a crime and incitement.

He said in the process the accused persons are cautioned and questioned separately, they made statement in krio which was recorded in English. He said at the conclusion thier statements were read to them separately which they admitted to be true and correct and signed by affixing their eight hand thumb print.

The witness also produced and tendered the charge statements as exhibits  D one to two for the first accused, E one to two for the second accused and  F one to two for the second accused  of all accused persons to form part of the Prosecution’s case.

At the end of his examination in chief defence counsel AK Kamara applied under section 190 (2)of the Criminal Procedure Act of 1965 for copy of the statements of the accused persons to be made available to him. His application was granted by the bench who told him he can get them from the court.

Defense counsel A K Kamara was about to renew his application for bail but magistrate Daboh said he can only entertain him after cross examination.

He there for adjourned the matter the 14th of November 2023 for the Prosecution to continue.

A batch of fourteen others including Lukemon Yaya were arraigned before the court for preliminary hearings.

Taking the witness stand, the exhibit clerk, sergeant 10275 Buya  Abu Kamara attached to the exhibit store Ross Road police station to tender the exhibits.

He said he is responsible to receive exhibit on case brought in by other officers, recorded them in the court exhibit book and produced same when needed in court.

He said on the 13th of September 2023, he was on duty when Detevtive police Constable 12144 Jalloh S attached to the Criminal Investigation Department handed over to him the following items including one plac card written on it “We want we data information known” ,  another which says “We need good governance in Sierra Leone”2 and other with several inscriptions

He produced forty five placards, sixteen with offensive writing against the government and the Electoral commission and they are marked as exhibits CCC one to Forty five.

As soon as the exhibit clerk finishes tendering the exhibits, the Prosecution declares it’s case close.

In that moment, magistrate Daboh promised to pass judgement on the 17th November 2023.
