Sea wright Mining Company operating in Nimiyama Chiefdom, Kono District has donated Solar Powered borehole with six taps worth ten thousand dollars to the people of pipe three areas in Gbense Chiefdom, Kono District including seventy-two computers and laboratory equipment to at least twelve secondary schools in the municipality of Koidu and part of Kamara Chiefdom in Kono District.
Schools that benefit from the donated items were: Koidu Secondary school, God is our Light,
Koidu Girls Secondary School, Ansarul Girls Secondary School, IAMTECH Secondary School, SI- Maada Secondary School, Islamic Secondary School, Experimental School of Science and Ahmadiyya Secondary School in Tombodu town, Kamara Chiefdom, Kono District.
Officially handing over the donated computers and laboratory equipment to the beneficiary secondary schools, the Chief Operating Officer of Seawright mining company Jabulani Mkoko intimated to the audience that the items donated are for the acquisition of quality education and improved administration in the beneficiary schools. He said the company was donating the teaching aids so that qualified employees will be secured sooner or later for the efficient operations of the Seawright mining company.
According to him, the donation will not only enhance quality education in the district but also impact the district and the country as the future of both the district and the country are in the hands of the children who will be using the donated items.
Mr. Mkoko implored the beneficiary school principals to accept the said gesture in good faith.
In a similar development whilst donating the solar Powered borehole with six taps to the people of a potential operational area of Seawright Mining company Pipe three in Gbense Chiefdom, Kono District, the Chief Operating Officer Seawwright Mining company maintained that the company without mining at Pipe three thought it prudent to provide the said solar-powered borehole in order to give life to the people in that part of the municipality of Koidu as water is life.
“As a good and caring mining company Sea wright finds pleasure when workers of the company and people in their operational areas enjoy or benefit from the same facilities,” he maintained.
He concluded by urging the people to own the facility provided by serving as watchdogs for the sustainability of the donated solar-powered borehole with six taps.
The Mayor of Koidu New Sembehun City Council his Worship Komba Matthew Sam, Director Advocate for Social Justice and Development Arthur Kargbo, representative of the Regent Chief Gbense Chiefdom, Kono District Sahr M.K. Gbondo, Chairman Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools in Kono District Sheku Kamara and the Deputy Director of Education Kono District Patrick Prince Ngegbeh among many other stakeholders that made statements at the two sets of donations thanked Seawright Mining company for a work well done and implored them not to relent as the reward for hard work or good work is more work.
They further described the operations of Seawright as not only a mining company but a strong partner in the development and wished them good luck in their operations.
