Words of praises were coming from the residents of Sammi one Community in Bo for the Minister of Energy Alhaji Kanja Sesay as they were in a jubilant mood after being deprived of electricity for over eight years, but now enjoying light.
The lighting up of Sammy one community came after community members sent a delegation to the Minister of Energy, Alhaji Kanja Sesay to inform him of the electricity condition of their community.
The Energy Minister during the meeting with the community people noted that their concern is grave and that he was going to see that “electricity will be restored in Sammy 1.” Upon his promise to the delegation, Alhaji Kanja Sesay prompted the EDSA South Management headed by Engineer George Seiya to look into and solve the age old electricity menace at Sammy 1.
Jubilant as he was, Mohamed Rogers, a Pastor who is a resident of the Sammy 1 community expressed happiness over the development, adding that “This to me is like a dream come true because we have all dreamt of having electricity supply in our community for we have suffered a lot without it,”
He went on to applaud and appreciate the Minister of Energy, Alhaji Kanja Sesay and the EDSA management and staff for making this dream a reality.
Mohamed Rogers admitted that he was not expecting electricity to be restored in Sammy 1 at this time and it is a surprise it was done.
The Public Relations Officer of EDSA, South/East Regions said that EDSA management is extremely happy that when the people of Sammi community are now enjoying the electricity supply which is their right and encouraged other communities not enjoying light to exercise some patience as the Authority will leave no one behind in the provision of reliable, affordable and sustainable energy.
Mohamed B. Sheriff said management encourages members of the public to reach out to the office of the Public Relations Officer at Hospital Road with electricity complaints or concerns and the team which is ready to serve will definitely solve those problems.
