Managing Director of Sierra Leone postal Service (SALPOST), Brima Katta has told journalists that SALPOST in partnership with the Ministry of Basic and senior secondary Education and the Ministry of Information and Communication will launch a universal postal union annual letter writing competition in Sierra Leone.
Katta made this statement on Thursday 15th September 2022 at the ministry of information conference room Youyi building Freetown.
He stated that the competition will target pupils in class six and JSS3 Nationwide with the topic “the role of school children in Community development”.
Katta said the competition will start from 7th to 26 October 2022, and the prize range from Le 5,000, for the first position, Le 3,000 for the second and le1, and 000 for the third position, he noted.
He also told a journalist that SALPOST in partnerships with the government, and the business institution provides E-governance postal service.
He said that they are also partnerships with the immigration department to provide passports to Sierra Leoneans.
He stated that the institution is working hard to partner with Register Generals Department and Commercial Bank to provide good postal service for all financial institutions in the country.
He told the pressmen that in 1970 people relied on mail, Letter but in our modern technology people had to change those services.
