An indigene in Bo District, Madam Sallay M. A. Kargbo has expressed her intention to throw her hat into the ring to contest for position of Southern Regional women’s Leader of the All Peoples Congress Party in order for the party to bounce back to power in 2023 elections.

Speaking to A-Z newspaper in an interview in Bo, Madam Kargbo said that she just felt that after working in the district about fifteen years, she need to go and serve her people at the regional level in order to further build on the good image of the APC party.

According to her, the world is not static and innovations are coming up every day and she wants to bring in more innovations in order to take the party to the lime light at the regional level.

Mrs. Krabo said that even though the party is in the opposition does not mean she is in disposition but well positioned and capacitated to move the party’s ideology to any level.

She said even though she is in a stronghold of the ruling party but do not lose sight of the fact that she is an indigene of Bo and by extension the southern region.

“I was born here and spent all of my life here and it will interest to note that I mingle with the members of the SLPP and most of them are my brothers and sisters, I meet with my relatives within the SLPP we know the language that we speak and not by quarrelling but putting our cards to the table for people to see which card is the best and chose among them”, she stated.

She went on to say that people know that what is currently happening within the APC party is a sign of victory for us and to remind of what happened in 2007 and where did it end us as party, it is statehouse.

Mrs. Kargbo said that as members of the party we are all from different background and we cannot see things from the same perspective all the time and things like this are bound to happen at any time and when it happened we find ways to amicably address them.

This, she said is what she want the women within the APC to join her to do in order to bring the party back to power in the 2023 elections, noting that women have a strong power to move things forward but it will only happen when you tap the potentials of women because what men can do women can do it better.

Mrs. Kargbo said that when I was Bo district women’s leader I did well to move the APC party forward by making sure that the women are economically viable by empowering them with micro-credit to enhance their livelihoods.

She said that if she does not win to become the regional women’s leaders she will throw her support behind the winner to continue to do the part work and that her zeal to work for the party will never dwindle if she loses.

Mr. Kargbo disclosed that the national chairman of the interim transitional governing committee will be here on Tuesday, 27th September 2022 to help interpret the court order to the people of Bo and other part of the southern region and therefore encouraged members of the party to turn out in large numbers to give a red carpet welcome to the chairman at the APC party office in Bo.

Madam Kargbo however cautioned that those party agents at the registration centres should not come but to stay at their respective registration centres to monitor the electoral process.
