Bo City’s iconic Saint Andrew’s Secondary School, the first co-educational secondary school in Sierra Leone, marked its 71st Founders’ Day with pomps and pleasantries. The celebration, held under the theme “Promoting Success in Learners Through Exemplary Leadership,” showcased the institution’s remarkable legacy of nurturing young minds and shaping future leaders.
The event was a time of reflection, bringing together past and present students, teachers, and dignitaries to honor the school’s history, achievements, and aspirations. Established 71 years ago, Saint Andrew’s has remained steadfast in its mission to provide quality education, foster inclusivity, and inspire excellence in its students.
In her keynote address, the principal highlighted the institution’s role in producing well-rounded individuals who have gone on to make contributions to society. “Saint Andrew’s is more than a school; it is a beacon of hope and a home for innovation, discipline, and academic excellence,” she remarked.
The celebration featured various activities, including a historical exhibition, speeches from notable alumni, cultural performances, and a special recognition ceremony for outstanding contributions to the school community.
