Third Police Witness (PW3), Detective Police Officer 143 Sesay M. attached at the Economic Financial Unit Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters appeared before Magistrate Sahr Keikura of Court No.1 Pademba road Freetown on the 19th May, 2021 in a case involving Sahr Komba charged with Sacrilege contrary to the Laws of Sierra Leone.
According to the police charged sheets, the accused person is charged with one count charge, of Sacrilege contrary to section 24 of the Larceny Act 1916.
It’s alleged in court one that Osman Conteh on the 10th January, 2021 at Redeem Church of Christ Joseph Palace at 12 Beoku Lane Main Motor Road Congo Cross Freetown did steal three thousand (3,000) watts amplifiers valued three million eight hundred thousand Leone (Le3, 800,000/00), sixteen (16) channel mixer valued two million five hundred thousand Leones (Le2, 500,000/00), and other items valued (Le56, 000,000/00).
Testifying in court, the witness said he recognized the accused person and on the 15th January, 2020 Detective Inspector Kallon K. who was investigating a case against the accused person called him to join and obtained contemporaneous interview from the accused person. The witness said him and Detective Inspector Kallon K. caution and question the accused person. Witness continued to say that on the 29th January, 2020 he and Detective Inspector Kallon K. charged the accused person for embezzlement of fifty six million Leones (Le56, 000,000/00).
The State Prosecutor prosecuting the case is Inspector I.S.Mansaray while there was no lawyer representing the accused person. The matter has been adjourned to the 26th May, 2021.
