Sierra Leonean-born Abu Bakarr Koroma from FREDO Football has helped his side Global Pharma Football Club in Liberia to lift the Liberian Division Two Championship Trophy and gain automatic qualification to the Liberian First Division.

Global Pharma Football Club plays 26 matches in the second Division league and wins (18) matches and concedes four defeats with five draws and lost three matches scoring 57 goals in the entire competition and ending up with 34 goals in favour and grabbing (59) points.

Global Pharma is CHAMPIONS after downing NPA Anchors as Life FC uncharacteristically forfeits while Samira inflicts Gardnersville’s first reverse of 2023.

Ball Passer Master Side Global Pharma Football Club got promoted to the Orange First Division league after a (1-0) win in their last match with PAGS FC at the centre field.

After lifting the Trophy Abu Bakarr Koroma said “It a plus to the entire board of trustees we the players and me as an individual to see ourselves walking through to the first division. It going to be a major challenge but by the grace of God and the hard work of our coaches, we going to overcome it.”

He added that we have already book our space for the first division it’s done from that end, our focus is the Championship now that we have won it we are going to do more in our first division.

Abu Bakarr Koroma started his playing career with Flex FC, FREDO FC and went on loan to IBRAHIM FC and later move from FREDO FC and join GLOBAL PHARMA FOOTBALL CLUB in 2022 to continue his Professional career in Liberia.

Abu Bakarr Koroma is playing lift back position and is fondly called by his teammate as Abu left and has been outstanding for his club in the entire campaign playing in all the matches for his club and was the best left back in his team they are now Champions of the Division Two league and gain a place to the First Division the heights league in the Liberian top league next season.

Pharma Football Club have one match to play against Tony FC a team in the fourth position and that will be their last match in the Division Two league.

Sheku Nepolean the CEO of the club said “As a club the feeling is great we are happy for him as a player because next month will mark ten years since the club was established, and since the foundation we have produced many young Football players internally and internationally and still currently have a lot of young players as a team”.

He affirmed that for the past two years, the club has designed a strategic plan of transformation, the club has sent players for trials in Countries such as the Gambia, Turkey, Guinea, and Liberia the only success, for now, is in Liberia where one of our players has excelled in the Division Two and help his club to win a trophy and qualified to the top league in Liberia. Noting the News is worth celebrating in the Country this is not about FREDO FC but the entire Country and this again has now sent a clear message to the Public that FREDO FC is a Foundation that is developing players for Sierra Leone and the National team.

Alfred Conteh the head coach of Fredo Football Club said “As a Club, we are very much happy for our player who has excelled in the Liberia league and has guided his club to gain Promotion to the Liberian Top league. Noting that this has sent a big signal back home to the other players and has also opened doors to other players who look forward to reaching their peak or doing more than that. Because what he has done is like our Club that won the Division Two league”.

Abu Bakarr is expected to join the rest of his teammates back home in the Club Celebration of the tenth Anniversary just after his last match in the Division Two League.
