The Leader of the National Ground Coalition in Parliament Hon. Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella has assured that fake news and negative propaganda would not deter him from his core values and beliefs that Sierra Leone needs a coalition of progressives across party lines.  He said their common enemies as members of NGC are still poverty, ignorance and corruption, rather than people in other political parties.

Hon. Dr. Yumkella admonished Founding Members of NGC via social media discussion last weekend that in addition to the ongoing local efforts at reconciliation, he said he has been engaged by the NGC-NA and UK&I executives and elders councils. He said he has assured them that they would move forward along the trajectory set by the Convention and NEC meeting unabated.

“We extend our gratitude to our Deputy Chairman and Leader, our Secretary General, the Youth Wing and Women’s Wing, and all those who have come forward to clarify issues”, he said.

He also intimated that the National Officers have shown him a work program with preset dates for several activities and meetings. He, therefore, encouraged others to support the National Officers robustly.

“We will soon go nationwide, and to every district, with our message of Compassionate Inclusive Governance (CIG). Inshallah, we will keep moving forward to heal and unite our nation. Without peace, rule of law, and respect for human rights there will be no development”, he said.

On another note, Hon. Dr. Yumkella disclosed that at the funeral of General Komba Mondeh, it was wonderful to be in the mosque with VP Juldeh Jalloh, and former VP Alhaji Samsuma, both of them sitting side-by-side. He said behind them was Hon Chernor Maju Bah and himself. “Wow!! That should be the new Sierra Leone; together as one, in a progressive alliance for a better Salone as one people with a common destiny”, he concluded.
