Lieutenant Colonel Brima Yandi Dumbuya has set another record by becoming the first Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) in the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF).
Lieutenant Colonel Brima Yandi Dumbuya became the first Chartered Certified Accountant in 2017 not only in the Army but among the uniformed appendages of the security sector i.e. The Sierra Leone Police, National Fire Force and the Sierra Leone Correctional Service.

The Albert Academy and later enrolled at the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) where he hoped to acquire his Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) and then work his way up to the ACCA level.
Due to his zest for academic excellence, he was able to go through his struggles with the aid of his Divine helper. Before acquiring such he almost dropped out of IPAM due to insufficient finances.
He never lost sight of becoming an accountant but with such enthusiasm and a go-getter attitude, he was conscripted into military force during the civil interregnum and today he has achieved hugely.
His academic appetite continued after surviving the civil war and decided to get back on the accounting trail. Later, he experienced some bottlenecks in completing the CAT course.
Lt Col BY Dumbuya attended one of the Best ACCA tuition providers London College of Accountancy (LCA) in the UK.
On April 2017, he completed the ACCA becoming the Army First Chartered Certified Accountant. Lt Col BY Dumbuya and other coursemates were recruited into the Military in 1994 by the Minister of Defence Brigadier General Retired KH Conteh who was the Army Chief of Staff at that time.
