Retired Police Officer Accused of Land Trespass

69yrs old Sheka Samura made another appearance  before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on one count charge to wit Trespass contrary to section 15 (1) (b) of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965

According to the particulars of offence on diverse dates between January 2017 and sometimes in October 2021 at Samuel town off Sumalia town the western area in Freetown trespassed into the piece or parcel of Lands Situated, lying and being at off main road George Brook New England Ville Freetown which forms part of the estate of Samuel Lisk and Administered by Christian Tulsidas the complainant.

The charges was read and explained to the accused person and he pleaded not guilty

Counsel representing the accused person K.T Dauda applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person that he is a Sierra Leonean ordinarily resident within this jurisdiction, the accused person has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to enter into recognizance on his behalf and he has a fixed abode nor will he interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses he is not a flight risk and he will not jumped bail.

 He made his application pursuant to section 79 (3) of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965

However Magistrate Kekura granted the accused person bail in the sum of one hundred million Leones or one surety in like sum surety must be resident in the western area the surety must be elderly and responsible citizen the surety should produce identity card indicating his or her addresses in Freetown. Bail to be approved by the Deputy Acting Registrar.

Sergeant 9939 Lahai M prosecuting the Matter adjourned to the 9th January 2022 for further hearing.
