Danka Wally Mansaray said that on 23rd July 2021, he went to Rokel commercial bank and was told by the cashier that NASSIT didn’t launch payment into his account.
He went to NASSIT HQ as was directed on the same date, and made inquiries at the benefit department where she met Fanta who shouted at him.
Mansaray in response reminded Fanta that he was rather a pensioner and not a contributor to the scheme.
On his way to the reception, he met Mrs Fowler to whom he narrated how unfairly and arrogantly he has been treated by other NASSIT staff. During that, the 3rd defendant instructed him to be office forcefully dragged out by the armed police officer attached to the office. The said officer he said left his post to the office of the fourth defendant, grabbed him by the back of his neck through the stairs and was pushing and keeping him as if he was going to be killed. Mansaray said the OSD personnel was aided by the second defendant and others as if he had gone to their office to beg. In the process, he said they break his leg.
He said he left the NASSIT office limping on one leg up to the Guma building on Lamina Sankoh Street where he was rescued by the drive of the deputy minister of justice. While he is being administered first aid, the plaintiff said a truckload with a police officer grabbed and flung him into their truck and was whisked to the central police station. Upon his release later that day after narrating his ordeal, he was sent for medical examination and treatment for bodily pain and fracture.
He is in court for compensation among other relieves.
Mansaray during cross-examination confirmed that such was the first ill treatment from the Social Security office in 14 years.
Asked what sort of weapons he is specialized in, he said AK 58, 47, RPG and SPG.
Throughout the 14 years of service to him, counsel for the defendant asked if Mansaray has been meeting security personnel entrance of the said NASSIT office.
His payments he said are often duly paid at least on or before the 25 of every month.
Mansaray who is married and has three kids said he was discharged by the army on the basis of mental illness. Since September 18 2008 said he has been on both government and indemnity pensions.
Parties to the matter will return to court for further hearing on 17th May Tenneh Tonia Smart Esq represents the plaintiff while Israel Jah is counsel for the defendants.
