Regional Stakeholders Meeting On Environmental  Ends In Bo, Kenema

The Acting Director of Environmental Quality Control and Management in the Ministry of Environment and climate change, Edwin Mbamba has conducted a regional stakeholders consultative meeting on the development of a five year gender responsive national Environmental quality control and management policy and standards in Kenema and Bo Districts respectively.

According to him, the Environment has degraded with Pollution everywhere which needs a standard policy for lands, water, dust, and health among other things in other to achieve legislation at the international level which is not existing in Sierra Leone.

He noted that citizens’ lives are in danger without observing international rules. Most people he said, do not treat the environment well and as a result, women are more encouraged to contribute to making the policy as they play a great role in environmental issues.

The Acting Director further maintained that they have implementing partners all over the country to make sure they work in the interest of the environment in the country. He advised Sierra Leoneans to deviate from activities that will damage the communities they find themselves.
