We have gathered that the process of installing electric poles from under the West Africa Power Poll initiative is gathering pace and has reached Pujehun district. The coordination of the Ministry of Lands in resolving rights of way conflict has been reported.
According to Pujehun District Lands Officer Joseph Kobe he has been working with the team of electrical pole installers and local authorities to conform to land policy.
Sierra Leone will be connecting from Liberia with power sourced from Ivory Coast under the West Arica Power Poll Initiative.
Joseph Kobe says so far the process of the electric pole installation is hitch free without contention from anywhere..
Pujehun Ministry of Lands has been providing similar support for the CSE road construction to the spanning across chiefdoms to the Liberian border in terms of redressing right of way issues using GPRS demarcation technology.
We have gathered that the Lands Ministry is enjoying the confidence of all stakeholders in resolving dispute. Kobe says he has been resolving land disputes in all chiefdoms, excepting Malen chiefdom where cooperation has been challenge from the local authorities
Community members have confirmed that there is little or less dispute because of the swift intervention of Land Officer Joseph Kobe who comes in to interpret the policy of government.
