The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has approved a resolution for Zoodlabs to settle its outstanding liabilities of $760,000 owed to the Government of Sierra Leone. This decision follows the ongoing review of the 2023 Auditor General’s Report.

During the PAC’s seventh sitting, chaired by Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh, the committee endorsed a payment plan requiring Zoodlabs to pay $60,000 monthly, beginning in January 2025, until the full amount is recovered.

Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh commended the Audit Service Sierra Leone for its thorough work on behalf of the people and the government, emphasizing the importance of accountability and transparency in financial matters.

The PAC chairman directed the committee’s secretariat to formally communicate the resolution to Zoodlabs and instructed the company to notify the PAC of each monthly payment. This measure is intended to ensure proper record-keeping and monitoring of the recovery process.

Hon. Conteh also noted that Zoodlabs had already settled part of its liabilities under the existing contract agreement. He described the approved payment plan as a balanced approach that ensures financial accountability while allowing Zoodlabs to remain operational.

This resolution marks a significant step in addressing the concerns highlighted in the Auditor General’s Report, reaffirming the government’s commitment to fiscal discipline and transparency.
