Prince Sullay Elected As President Of  National Olympic Committee

 Prince Sulley on 10th December 2022 was elected as President of the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone.

 The Elective Congress was held at the VIP Bintumani Conference at Aberdeen in Freetown.

Three people contested for the Presidency, namely, Pince Sualley, Kelvin E. Kellie, and Mohamed Turay, and 28 delegates decided among the candidates and voted Prince Sualley as the President of the National Olympic Committee as he got 23 votes out of 28 voted cast in the elections.

 Prince Stanley is the President of the Wrestling Association where he has tremendous transform the Sports and they were outstanding in the last commonwealth games.

 His two opponents candidates  Kelvin E.Kellie the President of Lawn Tennis Association get four (4) votes and Mohamed Turay the President of the Sierra Leone Swimming Diving and Water polo gets one (1) vote cast out of the 28 delegates.

The Vice President position went to Idriss Massaquoi the President of the Judo went unopposed.

The other positions like we’re as follows the Ex officio1 went to

Oness Abayomi Johnson: he gets 23 out of the 28 votes cast while his opponent Mohamed Bangura: get  5 votes, and Oness Abayomi Johnson wins the position of Ex officio1

The Treasurer, position went to Unisia Deen Kargbo gets 13 votes cast out of the 28 votes while his opponent  Joseph Kanu gets 7 votes cast and

Ibrahim G.T. Sankoh gets 8 votes cast by the Electoral Commission declaring Unisia Deen Kargbo as winning the position of Treasurer.

Victor Amara was voted as  Ex officio with 28 votes cast in the Elections.

After the Elective Congress the outgoing President Dr. Patrick Coker congrats the new President Prince Sualley and promise the work with him giving his expertise in the running of his reign in Office for the next four years. Called on the losers to work with him and see the progress of Sports in Sierra Leone.

The Newly Elected President of the National Olympic Committee Prince Sualley said he feels overwhelmed by the trust his delegates have for voting as President of the National Olympic Committee.

He affirmed that his leadership is seasonal because he has been around the NOC for seven (7) years now, first starting with Ex-Officio and then as Treasurer, noting in terms of experience he has vast in the running of the National Olympic Committee.

Noting when the outgoing President Dr.Patrick Coker’s reign comes to an end he thinks he is the right man to lead the National Olympic Committee this term around and the delegates make no mistakes in voting him the President of the National Olympic Committee in Sierra Leone.

He said,” I have dedicated my unwavering commitment to the Services of the NOC, cementing a reputation anchored in credibility and integrity, I intend to develop fruitfully and maintain an existing relationship with colleagues in the industry and the wider Sierra Leonean Community.

He stated that his five-point action plan will be the blueprint for his tenure which has been carefully tailored to improve the finance, governance, and sporting facilities to create a system that will bring medals home for Sierra Leone.
