Following a successful and momentous Presidential Media Cocktail hosted by His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio on Tuesday 10th December 2024, the Press Secretary to the President, Yusuf Keketoma Sandi Esq., has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all media stakeholders for their participation in the event.

In his statement, the Press Secretary extended his gratitude to editors, reporters, veteran journalists, media owners, and social media influencers for their presence. “Your acceptance of the invitation and your vibrant participation made the evening truly exceptional. Thank you for gracing the occasion with your exquisite appearances and contributing to its success,” Sandi remarked.

The Press Secretary also acknowledged the esteemed presence of Vice President Hon. Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh and First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, noting their contributions to the prestigious event. “Your gracious presence added a vital dimension to what was a memorable and inspiring gathering,” he noted.

Special appreciation was reserved for Ahmed Sahid Nasralla, the outgoing President of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), whose collaboration ensured the event’s success. “As this marks his final media cocktail as SLAJ President, I extend my deepest thanks to him for his exceptional leadership, his cooperation with the Presidency, and his role in fostering accountability through the media,” Sandi stated.

The Press Secretary also recognized the contributions of Minister Bah and Independent Media Commission Chairman Mr. Kapuwa, whose speeches enriched the occasion with their insight and vision.

Reflecting on the broader significance of the event, Sandi highlighted the visionary leadership of President Bio in fostering media freedom and engagement. “This annual cocktail underscores His Excellency’s commitment to a collaborative relationship with the media. As the first President in our history to host such an event annually and provide unprecedented subventions to SLAJ, President Bio continues to set a remarkable standard in advancing press freedom and accountability,” he added.

The Press Secretary concluded by reiterating his gratitude to all who contributed to the event’s success. “Thank you for your energy, enthusiasm, and unwavering commitment to strengthening the partnership between the Presidency and the media. Together, we continue to advance the values of transparency, dialogue, and progress in our nation.”
