The fifth Parliament of the Second Republic of Sierra Leone has on Thursday the 13th of January 2022, approved PC Dr. Michael Mustapha Ngebeh III Member, Board of Directors of the Bank Sierra Leone, and Dr. Alfred Morie Saffa, Members, Board of Directors of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The house unanimously debated and approved the Fourth Report of the Committee on Appointment and the Public Service on Parliamentary Vetting of the aforementioned Presidential Nominations.
During the course of the debate, the opposition Whip Hon. Hassan Sesay seconded the motion for the approval of the nominees. He confessed that the nominees in front of the House are “progressive and experienced” personalities. He therefore, called on the nominee for EPA to pay greater attention to issues dealing with the protection of the environment and also advised the nominee for the Bank of Sierra Leone to engage Parliament and stakeholders on the Bank redenomination.
On his part, Hon. Hindolo Moiwa Gevao said the two appointees are going to institutions that are very crucial in the socio-economic development of the state. He called on the nominees to put Sierra Leone first and actualized the dream of a safe and friendly environment and a better economy.
Rounding up the debate, Acting Leader of Opposition Hon. Ibrahim Ben Kargbo appraised Hon. PC Mustapha in particular for serving Sierra Leone diligently. He assured that PC Mustapha definitely deliver for the interest of the Bank of Sierra Leone.
Concluding the debate, the Acting Leader of Government Business Hon. Bashiru Silikie commended the president for presenting a good experienced Sierra Leoneans to serve the nation and urged the nominees to work in the interest of the nation.
The Speaker of the Fifth Parliament of the Second Republic of Sierra Leone Hon. Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu also joined the bandwagon in congratulating the two presidential nominees and wished them well in their new administrative sojourn.
