One of the remotest chiefdoms in Constituency 034, which is represented by Hon Ibrahim Ben Kargbo who has failed to even put up proper structure in his village, will soon start to benefit from full fledge electricity due to the hard work of President Dr. Julius Maada Bio who in his manifesto promised to provide social facilities for all Sierra Leoneans irrespective of tribe, region or religion.
“My government will provide electricity and other amenities for our people in the towns and villages,” the President promised his people.
Makeni in the northern region is considered as one of the strongest holds of the APC and residents have been enjoying constant supply of electricity from the government. The President does not want to limit supply to the cities alone but is seen to be interested in taking light to the villagers especially in Mapaki Chiefdom which has not seen electricity in its entire history.
The people of Mapaki Chiefdom have praised President Bio for his visible intervention in terms of the infrastructure like the placement of the poles and cables already connected to the houses of the villagers which is an indication that light is soon going to the enjoyed in the Chiefdom. Remember, this place had been deprived by the APC for long even Ernest Bai Koroma turned his face away from them with all the lofty promises he made during campaign he only tried for Makeni to get light through government resources.
The SLPP Chairlady in the Chiefdom, Madam Sento Kargbo had said the government of President Julius Maada Bio has not only focused on electricity but on providing pipe borne water and toilet facilities for the villagers. She expressed that of voted for the second term, the President will do more for the villagers in that part of the country, commending him for his introduction of the Free Quality Education which she said has resulted in the inclusion of many children residing in the Chiefdom.
She said if voted for, Retired Brigadier Julius Maada will pursue his talk and do drive to benefit more villages in opposition strongholds.
However, the District Chairman representing the ruling SLPP, Alhaji Mohammed Saiffa has assured the villagers of that they would soon start enjoying constant flow of electricity so that the villagers start enjoying the facility like Makenitonians who have been enjoying the light watching movies and drinking cold water uninterrupted.
