President Bio; the Busiest President

Last time I check we were in austerity when the pas government was trounced out of office like a tennis ball batted outta court of play. Someone’s world best player thus sent home to relax. He is no more an object of blandishment but one of basement for leaving the country in penury. He failed a whole nation.

The new entrant President Julius Maada Bio stepped in with the redemptive poise. He has since show himself as a man of phenomenal strength; the steadfastness to hold on a conviction that not slayers are just what they are; the pessimism to be defied then and now.

Here we are since 2018 when APC was beaten in the polls. It is revelation that a lazy incumbency cannot hold against the resolve of nation yearning for positive change. President knew this truth and by popular will assumed the power with the grit of lion ready to restore the eroded glory of Lion Mountain, our common inheritance. Such a disposition is not the preserve of the lazy. It means the President has been a busy man. Three years down the line the evidence of his being a busy are everywhere to showcase. He has produced a lot structural reforms, winning confidence of our donor partners that had been askance at the falling of a nation endowed immensely. So put aside the Ebola that government imported to represent their alibi for progressive regress. The APC was just not ready to improve things beyond what late Pa Kabbah left, the kleptocracy was massive instituting conclave of party pikin-you have to be a party card holder, kowtowing to the dismal contrivance of bad governance to make a head way. Otherwise you are seen as lazy or not serious.

This is a narrative that President has changed. He has enacted of a system that is based on merit and hard work. This is the accepted norm of good governance. So we are seeing an expanded workforce beyond the APC baseline. More nurses, more teachers, and more police more soldiers relatively incentivized. The wages have improved by percentile to what used to be. Salary delays have been worked on using sound local revenue drive as opposed to taking bank overdraft. Government inherited debts are serviced.

With the hide of hippo, the horsepower strength President Bio is all over the place making things to happen for the good of the generality. He has not placed his partisan above other Sierra Leoneans. This is why you can hear some SLPP supporters crying the cry of the APC. Things are not at the ideal pace of what all and sundry would expect. The reason is simple we are part of the global crunch occasioned by COVID 19. The gains that we are making under an astute leadership are seed sown for harvest in the not too distant future. Bio is telling Sierra Leoneans to be ready to work hard and reap from thy labour.

Too much has been achieved in the space of three years when compared to the twelve years of APC misrule. We are just from AFCON. Salone Messi, former President Ernest Bai Koroma who killed local leagues celebrated the resurgence from his hibernation place in Makeni. The figures of good governance rankings in Millennium Challenge, Transparency Corruption Perception Indices are glaringly attest to progress. It will do nothing for you had you been used to living large by stealing from state coffers. It will mean a lot for us who care about the good image of the country to translate on future fortunes for the unborn.

APC can only rely on the failings of this new direction to want come back and accelerate reversal. So the will create conditions for hardship. They will tell their partisans doing business to hike prices even where the government of President Bio has been so sensitive to the plight of ordinary Sierra Leoneans to relax taxes on some basic commodities but cannot reflect in the market. The extension of the witch craft disposition was seen when we failed to cross the group stages certain opposition supporters where gloating; happy that it would have otherwise contributed to the victory of an already winning President Bio come 2023.

This government cannot be pull down by lazy antics and stratagem. For it is driven by a leader with iron clad will power to turn things around. This is why he is reaching out to places investing in human capital, promoting national food self-sufficiency. The lazy minded analyst expects to see such investing putting food on their table after one year; whereas it got to be a mid and long term result producing effort. We will from time to time tell you guys in red garb what green aspiration can render for the good of the nation; it is a PAOPA mandate!
