In an effort to fight against child sexual exploitation and abuse, President Dr. Julius Maada Bio officially launched the “Hands Off Our Girls” Foundation held on Friday 13th December 2024.
The event honored individuals, organizations, and agencies that have made notable contributions to this vital cause, highlighting the nation’s commitment to protecting the rights of women and girls.
The foundation’s launch coincides with the United Nations World Day, which calls for global action against child exploitation.
This initiative aims to raise awareness and mobilize resources to address issues of violence against children, particularly in Sierra Leone, where these problems have been prevalent.
First Lady Mrs. Fatima Bio expressed her heartfelt gratitude to sponsors and supporters, emphasizing their crucial role in amplifying advocacy efforts. “My husband, President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, and the people of Sierra Leone have given me a platform to fight for the rights of our women and girls,” she stated.
