The President of the Republic of Sierra Leone His Excellency Rtd Brigadier Julius Maada Bio has officially recognized and handed over the staff of authority to eight newly elected paramount chiefs across the country at a ceremony held at the forefront of the Thomas Saquee Resource Centre Koakoyima section Tankoro Chiefdom, Koidu City-Kono District.
The official handing over of authority of Staff to Paramount Chiefs elect across the country by President Bio was one of the activities of this year’s national conference of paramount chiefs held at the Thomas Saquee Resource Centre in Koidu City.
Officially handing over the authority of staff to at least eight paramount chiefs elected across the country President Bio foremost congratulated them on their election and urged them to maintain the standards of Chieftaincy which he described as sacred.
“You were elected as paramount chiefs because of the love and trust the people have in you so I expect you all to work in their favour,” President Bio admonished.
Meanwhile, one of the Paramount Chiefs that received the authority of Staff P.C Alie Musa of Mafindor Chiefdom Kono District expressed thanks and appreciation for those that voted for him and for the President to have accorded them such befitting treatment.
He promised to live and rule his people according to their expectations. Signing, drumming and other cultural performances climaxed the said ceremony.
