President Julius Maada Bio has officially commissioned a new batch of cadets and recruits into the Sierra Leone Armed Forces, urging them to uphold the values of service, honour, and excellence.
Speaking at the Sierra Leone Military Academy in Benguema, the President highlighted the importance of the ceremony, describing it as a pivotal moment in the nation’s ongoing efforts to build a professional, disciplined, and resilient military.
As Commander-in-Chief, President Bio reflected on his own military journey, acknowledging both the challenges and triumphs the new officers will encounter.
“Today, you commit to a lifelong covenant with service, honour, and excellence,” he said. “Remember, your honour belongs to the Green, White, and Blue flag.”
His message was met with applause from family members, dignitaries, and fellow soldiers who attended the ceremony. The President congratulated the new officers on their achievement and reaffirmed the country’s confidence in their bravery, integrity, and commitment to safeguarding Sierra Leone’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
