His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio has arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the World Governments Summit, scheduled to take place from 3–5 February 2026.
This year’s summit is themed “Shaping Future Governments,” with a focus on the transformative role of innovation and technology in addressing global challenges facing humanity.
Since its inception, the World Governments Summit has established itself as a leading global forum for dialogue and cooperation, promoting collaboration among nations and empowering leaders to respond to the evolving demands of governance. The summit provides a vital platform for sharing best practices and innovative solutions in an increasingly complex global landscape.
President Bio’s participation follows an invitation from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. His attendance underscores Sierra Leone’s commitment to active engagement with the international community and reflects the country’s growing recognition in global governance discussions under his leadership.
During the summit, President Bio is expected to hold bilateral meetings with fellow heads of state, development partners, and key stakeholders. These engagements are anticipated to focus on strengthening cooperation in areas such as climate change, economic development, public health, and technological advancement.
The President is also scheduled to participate in a high-level session, where he will share insights into Sierra Leone’s governance reforms and development trajectory.
