On December 13, 2024, the Government of Sierra Leone announced significant appointments within its cabinet, following a directive from President Brigadier (Rtd) Julius Maada Bio.
The reshuffle aims to enhance governance and address pressing national issues.
In a public notice released from State House, the President appointed Mr. Alpha Sesay as the new Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, a pivotal role in shaping the country’s legal framework. Alongside him, Mr. Morie Lengor has been named Deputy Minister of Justice, indicating a renewed commitment to upholding the rule of law.
The appointments extended to key figures in the Ministry of Transport and Aviation, with Mr. Emmanuel K. Akara taking on the role of Commissioner for the Political Parties Regulation Commission.
This position is crucial in ensuring fair political practices and fostering democratic principles within the nation.
The announcement also highlighted the selection of Mr. Lanina Yamboi as the Chief of Protocol and Ambassador-at-Large, a role that will facilitate international relations and enhance Sierra Leone’s diplomatic presence.
